Industry City

If you live in Manhattan and haven't heard of Industry City, I wouldn't be surprised. Near Sunset Park by the water in Brooklyn, there's an artificially create community of high rise apartments with their own food hall, coworking spaces, game center, and interior design and furniture stores conveniently situated next to Costco. It's a weird place but uber convenient and also is home to one of my Top 5 Dumpling spots (Yaso Tang Bao) as well as Blue Marble Ice Cream. What this post about though is Japan Village, a mini food hall unto itself for just japanese foods. There are stalls for all the staples: ramen, udon, rice bowls, street snacks, and two sushi places. This location also has a small grocery story about the same size as Sunrise Mart. After picking up some sesame oil and sliced pork belly for dinner in the evening, I treated myself to some snacks: a monster curry croquette and okonomiyaki. The croquette was massive as pictured and came with a side of sauce. Although I burned the inside of my mouth multiple times, the croquette was tasty and worth it. The okonomiyaki was packed with seafood but got soggy quickly. Next time, I will opt for the takoyaki instead. Overall this would be a fun place to come with a group and the grocery store has some well priced raw fish options if you're looking for a clean and high quality dinner.
