Sunset Park

Now that I live so much closer to Sunset Park, I've slowly been picking away at all the places that have been on my list for a while. Ba Xuyen is known for its very cheap very delicious banh mis and it did not disappoint. For $5 you can get a crispy and massive sandwich filled with pate, ham, pork, pickled veggies, and an umami-packed sauce that fill not only fill you up but still make you crave more. Although deceptively simple, I've rarely had astoundingly good banh mis in the city. Either the bread is just a little soggy, the meat portions are too meager, or the vegetables are not pickled enough or too salty. This banh mi is the goldilocks one I've been searching for and I repeat, it has PATE. FOR $5. Need I say more.
