Brooklyn Heights
Originally just looking to quell my cravings for Arepa Lady, I stumbled upon the Delkalb Market Hall at the bottom of a shopping complex in downtown Brooklyn. How had I not heard about this before?! There were more than 20 different little food stands which included noodles, tacos, barbeque, pasta, paella, ice cream, fried chicken and anything else I could have possibly imagined all connected to a Trader Joe's. This was my millennial foodie paradise and along with picking up the aforementioned arepa (which was just as crispy and buttery as I remembered), I also got my favorite dan dan noodles at Han Dynasty (which has a sitdown location here) and a swingle (a frozen baby key lime pie complete with graham cracker crust and raspberry jam all coated in chocolate) from Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pies which I have been dying to try for years but have never been able to venture out to Red Hook for. My only regret from this experience was not bringing my friends here so that I could have tried more things. I will certainly have to come back for the bbq and Japanese crepes!
