Park Slope
After an aggressive day of eating, I was excited to stop by at this little Italian place in Park Slope for a small, refined meal. Al Di La appeared on my grubstreet dumpling poster for its casunziei made with ricotta and beets. The dish came out swimming in a little pool of butter and sprinkled with cheese and poppyseeds. Honestly it was almost too pretty to eat but the dough was incredibly tender yet supple and the filling noticibly beet-y, sweet, and fresh as far as pastas go. Definitely would not have been enough food for a normal meal and would likely want to order something different next time but these are very unique and oh so insta worthy. Sidenote, the bread they serve is shockingly good. I was considering abstaining because I was so full but after one bit I was hooked. CRAZY crunchy on the outside with a light as air filling.
Second side note: The Donut Project has a beet glazed donut filled with ricotta so this must be a popular combo
