Harlem
Initially brought to this Cote D'Ivorian restaurant to try the futu (which appeared on my grubstreet dumpling poster), I was overall impressed by the food as a whole. Portion sizes were generous, everything was flavorful and authentic, and the whole experience made me miss my time in Africa (I was the only non-African in the entire restaurant). We ordered the futu (which turned out to have a consistency between mashed potatoes and Chinese man tou) with the okra stew, the roasted lamb with pickled onions, a grilled white fish which came with a vegetable salsa sauce, and plaintains which came with a slightly sweet sauce. I particularly enjoyed the lamb which has plenty of delicious charred and fatty parts but honestly, the fish was also very good. I appreciated that all the hearty food was balanced out with pickled vegetables to add some acid and am 100% coming back here to try the peanut soup which has run out by the time we had gotten there.
