Greenpoint

The wait time is no joke at this Greenpoint staple (approx. 30 minutes for our group of 3 for weekday dinner) but the slightly charred pizza does not disappoint. Like Motorino, the crust at Paulie Gee's has burn crust bubbles (if you're into that sort of thing) and a medium chewy crust (not as chewy as Roberta's but not crunchy like a Rubirosa or dollar slice). Toppings are fresh and air on the more inventive side (ex. guanciale, fennel, kale, speck, honey) and there are plenty of pizza options to choose from. Also, because the pizzas aren't massive, three pizzas wasn't crazy for three ladies and we will had room for ice cream after. I highly recommend anything with ricotta from here because it was extra delicious and pairs well with both tomato and pesto sauce and also felt like the vegetarian options outshined the meat ones (so rare for me to say!). Next time, I'd really like to try their dessert pizza and added bonus that they also serve van leeuwens.
