Soho

It's been almost 6 months since I was in Spain and I still dream of the pintxos in San Sebastian. One of the best places I found to indulge my Spanish food cravings is Despana in Soho. The sandwich counter is one of my favorite low key gems in the city because the food is delicious, it doubles as a specialty grocery store (so you can buy jamon and sardines to take home), and you can buy a bottle of wine in the store next door which you can enjoy with your food. It's very reasonably priced and the ingredients are great. There are also sandwiches if you are a bit hungrier or you can just get a bunch of pintxos, flautas, and cheese. Because you pay at the counter, it often isn't crowded and service is fast. For a pintxo in a pinch, this is my favorite spot in the city.
