Lower East Side

This gem right between East Village and Lower East Side is one of the few places you can get Nepalese food in Manhattan without going all the way out to Queens. The Nepalese version of the dumplings are momos which are slightly thicker skinned and very stuffed compared to the Chinese version. Generally they are fried or steamed but both varieties are delicious and full of unique spices. Café Himalaya also offers delicious curries and many vegetarian options as well. The décor is simple and the restaurant is tiny but the best feature is that this place is BYO. So bring your closest friends here who are not afraid of trying something new and a bottle of wine before you hit the bars in LES for a cheap, delicious, and convenient dinner.
