Midtown
This is one of my favorite sushi spots that even my parents approve of. It's tucked away in the basement of a midtown office building close by the UN but when you walk in, you instantly feel as if you've been transported to Tokyo. The restaurant is quite large and no need for a set omakase. The sushi is very fresh, the sake menu is long, and the service is great. The rooms never get too loud either and tend to be businessmen. Final plus is that this place takes reservations, even on opentable.
