The bagels at Russ and Daughters tend to be on the smaller and thinner side but the real star of the show is the smoked fish at this shop. It has everything from gravlax to whitefish salad but get the nova. It's perfectly balanced: not too salty, sweet, or smoked with a clean flavor and super thinly sliced. Pro tip: Pick up a dozen Tomkin's Square Bagels and place an order of nova for pickup from russ and daughters by calling ahead and then eat this all week. Also note there is a sit-down cafe version called Russ & Daughters Cafe.
