Midtown, Chelsea

The time square location feels like a hole in the wall and a relaxing paradise from tourists and noise. Ootoya's lunch deals in particular are quite good and there are plenty of little side dishes that are also given to you (chawanmushi is on point). In particular the katsu with egg is super hot but spectacular as are the sushi bowls which always taste fresh. Be aware though, no reservations but if you get there within 30 minutes from opening the wait is normally about 20 to 30 for a small group.
