1. Mac n Cheese
This was one of my 4 main food groups while in college and I like how you can dress it up or down depending on the variety of cheese you use and add-ins like truffle oil, bacon, spices. The easiest version I have found is this while my favorite is this
2. Omelets and Scrambled Eggs
This is an easy way to use milk that’s about to spoil to make your eggs more fluffy. I tend to make these ahead of time and then just heat them up in the morning. It took me a long time to make a semi-decent omelet and here’s the article that helped me (along with butter)
3. Braising Meat
It seems a little wrong to braise beef in milk but it does make the meat super tender and gives it a robust flavor. Some of my favorite recipes are for braised chicken and braised pork
4. Biscuits
If you happen to also have a bisquick or flour, it’s very easy to make biscuits that can last you the whole week even if you already ran out of bread. Instructions here (or on the back of the bisquick box)
5. Hot Chocolate
I'm not one of those people that likes drinking plain milk and chocolate makes everything better, particularly on cold nights. Treat yourself to something a little nicer than swiss miss with this recipe
