East Village

I’m a soup dumpling enthusiastic so I was really excited to try the ones at the Bao. The spicy soup dumpling was particularly interesting because it already had a bit of chili oil in the broth which was nice because I didn’t need to add that myself. Overall, the dumpling was solid with average skin, average amount of filling, and average amount of soup but there was nothing particularly special about them. If you’re already on saint marks and are craving a soup dumpling then coming here makes sense but otherwise, I wouldn’t actively go out of my way to wait in line for it.

What I had: Spicy soup dumplings

Price: $8.95 for 6
