Meatpacking, Union Square, West Village

Coming here late at night is a New Yorker rite of passage. Test your patience in the line and your tongue by not burning yourself on the molten hot artichoke dip as you try to wolf it down. Eventually, graduate to eating the other slices which won’t make you feel as regretful the next day (or drip on your shirt and make you smell like artichoke when you wake up). I highly recommend the Staten Island. It literally has everything and Artichoke’s tangy tomato sauce is low-key great.

What I ordered: Artichoke, Crab, Staten Island

Average cost per slice: $3-$4
